SYMPTOMS

When you use the COMMAND+PERIOD (.) key combination to quit an installation in progress of Microsoft Office 2001 for Mac, this does not stop the installation process.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, allow the installation of Office to finish, and then uninstall Office if you choose to.

MORE INFORMATION

The plus sign (+), when used between key names, means that both keys are held down together at the same time. When you press the COMMAND and PERIOD keys at the same time, the operation in progress should be stopped.
