SUMMARY

This article describes how to configure visualizations in Windows Media Player 7.

MORE INFORMATION

Visualizations are grouped into collections centered on specific themes such as ambiance or spikes. You can add or remove collections from Windows Media Player. For some collections, you can set properties such as the size of the video screen or the on-screen buffer.

To change the properties of a visualization collection:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click the Visualizations tab.
  3. Click the collection that you want to modify, and then click Properties. Note that the properties that you can modify depend on the collection that you select. With some collections, you can modify the size of the on-screen buffer. The larger you set the buffer size, the harder your computer must work to make the visualization run smoothly.
  4. Adjust the properties.
  5. Click OK, and then click OK.
To change the visualization in use:
  1. Click Now Playing.
  2. Click the Previous visualization or Next visualization button near the bottom-left corner of the Windows Media Player window to cycle through the available visualizations.
Note that you must select the Digital playback check box for visualizations to work when you play a CD track. To verify that the Digital playback check box is selected:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click the CD Audio tab.
To disable visualizations:
  1. With the player open, click View, click Now Playing Tools.
  2. Click to clear the Visualizations check box, and then click OK.
