WMP7: Visualization Freezes in Windows Media Player When You Open Task Manager (268354)

SYMPTOMS

While you are playing an audio file in Microsoft Windows Media Player, your computer's visualizations (video images) may stop responding or "freeze" when the Task Manager is open for more than a few seconds.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, do one of the following:
  • Select another visualization in a different category.
  • Minimize and then restore the Windows Media Player.
  • Drag another window over the top of Windows Media Player.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
