SYMPTOMS

When you use the Audio Tuning Wizard in the Microsoft SideWinder Game Voice software, you may receive the following error message:
Your hardware is not able to play sounds!

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the following conditions are true:
  • You are using a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer.
  • You install Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, uninstall and reinstall the sound driver for your sound card, or obtain and install the latest sound driver for your sound card from your hardware manufacturer.
