Incorrect Space Requirements Listed in Readmesp.htm File (268256)

SYMPTOMS

The Readmesp.htm file that is included with Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) contains a documentation error. The space requirements that are listed in the Readmesp.htm file are incorrect.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

To work around this problem, note that the working space for Windows 2000 Professional, Server and Advanced Server (for both CD-ROM and Windows 2000 Service Pack Web site-based installations) should be increased by 10 megabytes (MB). For example, when you install Windows 2000 SP1 from the Windows 2000 Service Pack Web site to your Windows 2000 Professional-based computer, the working space requirements are 190 MB instead of the documented amount of 180 MB.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
