The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q268193 SYMPTOMS
When you open a Microsoft Word 2000 document in Microsoft Works 6 Word Processor, horizontal lines that were inserted into the document in Word are superimposed, or they may be missing altogether.
NOTE: On rare occasions, when you open a Word 2000 document that contains inserted horizontal lines in Works Word Processor, the program may quit unexpectedly.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the file converter for Word 97 and Word 2000 does not always convert horizontal lines correctly.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, open the Word document in Microsoft Word, remove the horizontal lines, and then save the document as a different file name (if you want to preserve the horizontal lines for use with Word).
