After you install Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1), the Setupapi.log file may contain entries similar to:
Copying file \\<Name>\I386\Xcopy.ex_ to
C:\Winntsrv\System32\Dllcache\Xcopy.exe
An unsigned or incorrectly signed file (\\<Name>\Xcopy.ex_) was
installed. Error 0x800b0003: The form specified for the subject is not one supported or known by the specified trust provider.
After you install Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2), the Setupapi.log file may contain entries similar to:
Copying file \\<Name>\svcpack.dl_ to
C:\WINNT\System32\svcpack.dll.
An unsigned or incorrectly signed file (\\<Name>\update.inf) was
installed. Error 0xe000022f: The third-party INF
does not contain digital signature information.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the Update.inf file is not digitally signed. This is an informational statement you can ignore.
