Cluster Administrator stops responding when you create Exchange 2000 cluster resource (268017)

This article was previously published under Q268017 SYMPTOMSWhen you try to create the Exchange Cluster Resources for Exchange 2000, the Cluster Administrator stops responding (hangs), and after a long time, you receive the following error message:
An unknown error has occurred.
In most cases, only the System Attendant resource gets created, but not the others.
CAUSE
You do not have Exchange Full Administrator permissions.
WORKAROUND
Log on to the Cluster Server with an account that has Exchange Full Administrator permissions or assign an account with those permissions through the Delegation Wizard in Exchange System Manager.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
