The Hibernation Feature May Not Work (267967)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use the Windows Millennium Edition (Me) Hibernation feature, you may not be able to use this feature and the feature may not be displayed as an option in either the Shutdown Windows dialog box or in the Power Management tool in Control Panel.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if your Windows Me-based computer is using a multiple-monitor (Multimon) configuration.

NOTE: This problem applies only to the Windows Me S4OS Hibernation feature.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, if your computer uses a third-party solution for hibernation support (S4BIOS, where BIOS is the abbreviation for basic input/output system), contact the computer manufacturer for information about whether or not your computer can hibernate when it uses a multiple-monitor configuration.
