SYMPTOMS

When you double-click Add/Remove Programs in the Program Files folder that is located in a shared network folder (for example, computername\share) or a mapped network drive, you may receive one of the following error messages:
Internet Explorer Script Error
An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Char: 13
Error: Unspecified error.
Code: 0

The Add/Remove Programs link is visible only if the Enable web content in folders check box is selected under Folder Options in Control Panel. The Line and Char values in the first error message described in the "Symptoms" section may vary.

The Add/Remove Programs link in the Program Files folder is designed to open the Add/Remove Programs dialog box (in Control Panel) on your local computer. It cannot be used to open the Add/Remove Programs dialog box on a remote computer.
