When you view the System Security Catalog Certificate Valid from date entry, the certificate expired on 7/2/2000. To view this date entry:
- Double-click the System.cat file in the Windows\System\Catroot\{F750E~1 folder.
- Click View Signature, click View Certificate, and then view the Valid from date entry.
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the Consumer Windows Division (CWD) certificate that signs the System.cat file in Windows Me expired on 7/2/2000.
MORE INFORMATION
This issue has no negative effect if the System.cat file is signed before 7/2/2000.
