Close Button Is Not Displayed in the Left Pane in High Contrast Mode (267783)

SYMPTOMS

In Windows Millennium Edition (Me), when you are using the Magnifier, if you click the Use High Contrast mode option, and then click Search in My Computer, the Close button is not displayed in the upper-right corner of the Search Explorer Bar. This behavior also occurs if you click Folders or History.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use one of the following methods:
  • Click to clear the Use High Contrast mode check box in the Magnifier tool.

    -or-
  • To close the Search, Folders, or History window, on the View menu, point to Explorer Bar, and then click the Explorer Bar that you want to close.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
