"Error Processing Folder in Recycle Bin" Message When Using Norton CleanSweep 4.5 (267696)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Fast and Safe Cleanup feature of Norton CleanSweep 4.5 to empty your computer's Recycle Bin, you may receive the following error message when the program attempts to delete folders:

Error Processing <folder> in Recycle Bin.

When you click OK to close the error message, the Recycle Bin is emptied.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, you must contact Symantec Corporation, the manufacturer of Norton CleanSweep 4.5, for updated software that works with Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me).

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, you can change the default setting for the desktop (in the Scheme box) from Windows Standard to another setting. To do this, follow these steps:

In Control Panel, double-click Display.
Click the Appearance tab and in the Scheme box, click a scheme other than Windows Standard.
Click OK.

NOTE: If you reselect the default color scheme, the problem does not recur.
