SUMMARY

The Home Networking Wizard lists the following option on the Internet Connection page: No, this computer does not use the Internet.

By default, the network adapter is a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) client and it receives its Domain Name System (DNS) and default gateway from the host DHCP services. Therefore, when you select this option, Internet access is not blocked.

MORE INFORMATION

To block Internet access to a client computer, give the client computer a static Internet Protocol (IP) address, such as 192.168.0.5. Leave the default gateway box blank and the make the DNS unavailable. The client computer can continue to share files, print and access the local network.

To restore Internet access to the client, restore the network adapter to a DHCP client computer and restart the client computer.
