WD2000: Incorrect Scrolling with Mouse Wheel in Grammar and Style Options (267576)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word 2000

This article was previously published under Q267576

SYMPTOMS

When you use the scroll wheel on your Microsoft Mouse in the Grammar Settings dialog box, the Grammar and style options do not scroll as you expect. Instead, the options always scroll downward and appear to scroll in an incomplete manner.

NOTE: To open the Grammar Settings dialog box, on the Tools menu, click Options. On the Spelling & Grammar tab, click Settings.

This behavior is different from other dialog boxes in Word. For example, the wheel button correctly scrolls in the Compatibility Options box. (On the Tools menu, click Options and then click to select the Compatibility tab.)

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the vertical scroll bar in the Grammar and style options box in the Grammar Settings dialog box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
