WD2000: Error Message: "Run-time Error '5'" When You Start Word (267572)

When you start Microsoft Word, you receive the following error message:
Run-time error '5': Invalid Procedure Call or Argument.
CAUSE
This error message may appear when the _stamps.dot template, which is provided by Stamps.com, is located in your Office or Word Startup folder.
The default location of the Office Startup folder is:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Startup
The default location of the Word Startup folder varies, based on the operating system that your computer is using:
Microsoft Windows 2000
C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP
NOTE: In Microsoft Windows 2000, the Application Data folder is a hidden folder. To unhide it, double-click My Computer. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options. On the View tab, click to select Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK.
Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98
C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup
Windows 95 or Windows 98 with User Profiles Enabled
C:\Windows\Profiles\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, delete or move the _stamps.dot template from your Startup folder or folders. To do this, follow these steps:
- Quit Microsoft Word.
- In the appropriate Startup folder, click to select _stamps.dot.
- Do one of the following:
- To delete _stamps.dot, click Delete on the Edit menu.
-or- - To move _stamps.dot to a different folder, click Cut on the Edit menu. Select the folder where you want to move _stamps.dot, and then click Paste on the Edit menu.
- Restart Microsoft Word.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, upgrade to version 2.2.2 or later of the Stamps.com Internet Postage software.
