On-Screen Keyboard Text on CTRL+ALT Keys Disappears When You Select CTRL+ALT and Decimal Point on Numeric Keypad (267525)

When you start the Onscreen Keyboard (OSK) Accessibility tool in Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition, and on the OSK you press the CTRL+ALT key combination and then press the decimal point (.) key on the numeric keypad, the text on the CTRL and ALT keys disappears. This behavior occurs only when the Num Lock function is turned off.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, do one of the following:
- Press the Num Lock key on the OSK before pressing the CTRL+ALT key combination.
- Move the pointer over the blank CTRL and ALT keys to restore the text.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
