Joystick Does Not Work After You Resume Your Computer with an ESS 1887 Sound Card (267349)

After you resume your computer, your joystick may not work. Also, your joystick may appear to be working correctly in Device Manager, but your joystick may appear to not be connected in the Game Controllers tool in Control Panel.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if you are using an ESS 1887 sound card. This sound card is not a Plug and Play card.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, contact the manufacturer of your ESS 1887 sound card to inquire about the availability of a fix for this issue.
To work around this issue, restart your computer.
