Automatic logon component settings not used by target system (267298)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows NT Embedded 4.0
This article was previously published under Q267298 SYMPTOMS
The Automatic Logon component of Windows NT Embedded enables you to specify a username, password, and optional domain for the target image to use when logging on to the network. However, when using the Automatic Logon component, the target system does not use the username and domain specified.
CAUSE
The username and domain values are not being stored in the target system registry.
RESOLUTION
Manually modify the target system's registry to include the username and optional domain name.
The registry key that controls the auto-logon behavior is:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon
The values involved are DefaultUserName and DefaultDomainName. Modify these values to reflect the username and domain name that you want to use. For additional information on modifying the registry, click the article number below
