SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to install Internet Connection Sharing, you may receive the following error message:
Setup cannot continue. Another Internet Connection Sharing program is installed on this computer.
CAUSE
This error message can occur if the WinGate software by Deerfield.com was installed on your computer. The WinGate software does not remove some registry settings when you uninstall it.
RESOLUTIONWARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve
problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk.
To resolve this issue, remove any WinGate entries under the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
