MCIS 2.5 HMI Fails with Asp0115 Error Messages During File Attachment Processing (267254)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Commercial Internet System 2.5
  • Microsoft Site Server 3.0

This article was previously published under Q267254

SYMPTOMS

Clients receive ASP0115 error messages and the HTML Mail Interface (HMI) server logs ASP 5 error messages in the Application event log.

CAUSE

When you attach files with long file names, heap corruption occurs, which results in random heap-processing problems.

RESOLUTION

Upgrade the Cpshost.dll file. If Site Server 3.0 Service Pack 4 (SP4) has been installed, then the Cpshost.dll file that is located in the Inetpub\Scripts directory has been upgraded. Copy this file to the Mcis25\Email directory. This is the location from which HMI accesses Cpshost.dll.

NOTE: If the MCIS 25 e-mail directory has been manually moved to a custom location, then hotfixes, including Cpshost.dll, must be manually copied to this location as well.
