Desktop Color Scheme Is Not Updated When You Upgrade Your Computer to Windows Me (267185)

When you upgrade your computer from Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition (SE) to Windows Millennium Edition (Me), the desktop color scheme may not change to the default Windows Me color scheme but may instead retain the Windows 98 SE color scheme.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, double-click Display in Control Panel and, on the Appearance tab, click the default Windows desktop scheme.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
