When you manage a remote Microsoft Windows 2000 computer from a Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) computer, an incomplete message appears on the Security tab of the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI):
A Windows 9x computer cannot manage security on a Windows 2000
The next line is made up of dots and dashes that may appear to be hidden text.
The message should read as follows:
A Windows 9x computer cannot manage security on a Windows 2000 computer
The line following this message is blank.

The WMI can be used to view information about a Windows 2000 computer when the user has administrative privileges, but cannot be used to manage the Windows 2000 computer.
The WMI cannot be used to view or to manage a Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, or another Windows Millennium Edition computer.
