SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to turn the FilterKeys feature on or off by pressing the right SHIFT key for 8 to 16 seconds, you may find that this method is ineffective.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, disable FilterKeys.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

To disable FilterKeys, follow these steps:
  1. In Control Panel, double-click Accessibility Options.
  2. On the Keyboard tab, click to clear the Use FilterKeys check box.
  3. Click Apply, and then click OK.
