Site Server Content Analyzer Only Reports on HTML and ASP Files (266774)

SYMPTOMS

Site Server 3.0 Content Analyzer is only able to import or read from HTML or ASP files. Meta information in the stub file that is associated with non-html files, such as .doc files or .gif files, is ignored.

CAUSE

Site Server 3.0 Content Analyzer only imports the information from HTML and ASP files.

STATUS

This is by design.

Steps to Reproduce this Behavior

  1. Import the Web log files to the Site Server 3.0 Analysis database.
  2. Run a URL crawl in Site Server 3.0 Content Analyzer. This associates the meta tags with the project file (.wmp file).
  3. Use the Site Server 3.0 Custom Imports Content Data option, import the project file (.wmp) to Analysis Database.
  4. Run a report on the site by using Site Server 3.0 Report Writer.
  5. The tag information (ContentType, ContentAuthor, and Topic) is returned on all HTML and ASP files, but not on other files (.doc, .gif and so on).
