If you are a member of the local Administrators group and you try to take ownership of a folder, but you have not selected the current account or the local Administrators group as the new owner, Windows Explorer may stop responding.
RESOLUTION
To prevent this issue from occurring, select the current account or the local Administrators group when you take ownership of a folder.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
