OL98: Error Message: Outlook.exe Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module Mpsap32.dll (266380)

SYMPTOMS

When you quit Outlook, you may receive the following error message:
Outlook.exe caused an invalid page fault in module mpsap32.dll.

CAUSE

One possible cause for this behavior is a third-party Messaging application Programming Interface (MAPI) add-in, the "SAP MAPI Service Provider" add-in.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, remove the add-in. To do this:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the Other tab, click Advanced Options.
  3. Click Add-in Manager.
  4. Click to clear the SAP MAPI Service Provider check box, and then click OK.
  5. Click OK, and then click OK.

MORE INFORMATION

If the add-in functionality is disabled and you use the method in the "Resolution" section, integration of the Server Advertising Protocol (SAP) mail system with Outlook is lost, you cannot check SAP R/3 mailboxes in Outlook, and you do not receive new SAP mail notification. However, other SAP client functionality is not changed.
