OL97: "MAPISP32 Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module MINET32.DLL" Error Message When You Try to Receive Mail (266340)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to receive new e-mail messages in Outlook 97, you may receive the following error message:
MAPISP32 caused an invalid page fault in module MINET32.DLL.

CAUSE

You may have a damaged or incorrect version of the Minet32.dll file.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, replace your copy of the Minet32.dll file with the version that is included on your Microsoft Office 97 or Outlook 97 CD-ROM. To replace the Minet32.dll file:
  1. Click Start, point to Find (or Search) and then click Files or Folders.
  2. In the Named box, type minet32.dll, and then click Find Now (or Search).
  3. In the Results pane, right-click the Minet32.dll file, click Rename, rename the file to Minet32.old, and then note the path where this file is located.
  4. Insert your Microsoft Office or Outlook CD-ROM in the CR-ROM drive, and then repeat the search for the Minet32.dll file on the CD-ROM by selecting your CD-ROM drive in the Look in box.
  5. In the Results pane, right-click the Minet32.dll file from your CD-ROM, and then click Copy.
  6. Locate the folder that you noted in step 3, and then click Paste on the File menu to paste the Minet32.dll file in that folder.
