SUMMARY

When you install Application Center 2000 with the Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE) option for logging events and performance data, the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) are upgraded to version 2.6.

MORE INFORMATION

The version of MDAC that is included in Windows 2000 is version 2.5. The MSDE portion of the Application Center installation upgrades MDAC to 2.6. The updated Microsoft Data Access components are required for the integration of MSDE 8.0 with Application Center 2000.

NOTE: If you uninstall Application Center, MDAC will not be downgraded back to version 2.5. The MDAC 2.6 software will remain on the computer.
