When you use the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC) to add users to a group, you may receive the following error message:
This location contains more than 0 objects, only the first 0 objects will be shown.
Note that the built-in users or groups may appear in the dialog box.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the Maximum Size of Directory Searches option has been set to 0 (zero) in the Group Policy object.
RESOLUTION
Change the Maximum Size of Directory Searches setting to a larger number (the default value is 10,000) in the Group Policy snap-in. This Group Policy object is located under:
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Desktop\Active Directory
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
