FIX: Unintialized Memory Bug in Authoring Code (266072)

SYMPTOMS

Visual InterDev users may experience system failures or a large amount of memory consumption when the user types a period (.) after typing the name of a class that has members. IntelliSense (IntelliSense displays a drop-down box showing the names of class members) is invoked.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

You can resolve this problem by installing version 5.5 of the Microsoft Windows Script Engines.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 1.This problem was corrected in Microsoft Windows Script Engines version 5.5.
