XWEB: Cannot Change Start or End Time for Appointment When Recurrence Pattern Has Been Removed in Outlook (266063)

SYMPTOMS

If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 to gain access to Microsoft Outlook Web Access, create a recurring appointment, leave the browser open, and then remove the recurrence pattern by using Microsoft Outlook, when you attempt to change the start or end times for the remaining occurrence of the appointment in Outlook Web Access, you may receive the following error message:
Unable to perform the operation

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you do not "refresh" Outlook Web Access after you remove the recurrence pattern in Outlook.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue:
  1. In the error message, click OK.
  2. Close the appointment dialog box.
  3. Click the Refresh button on the Internet Explorer toolbar.
  4. Reopen the appointment and make your changes.
