Works 6: One-Page Templates Print on Two Pages (265955)

SYMPTOMS

When you print a Microsoft Works Word Processor template, it may print on two pages instead of one page as expected.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you print a Works Word Processor template on certain printers.

Printers that are known to exhibit this behavior include the following:
  • Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 5L
  • Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 1600c

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
  1. On the Programs tab, click Works Word Processor.
  2. Select the template that you want, and then click Start this task.
  3. Select the theme or topic that you want, and then click Finish.
  4. On the File menu, click Page Setup.
  5. Decrease the size of the top margin or the bottom margin by 0.1 inch, and then click OK.
  6. Print a test document to determine if the template is printed correctly.
