Original Thumbnail Image Remains in Collections Area After the File Is Overwritten (265558)

When you take a picture using Windows Movie Maker, if you click the Camera icon, type a new name in the File name box, and then click Save, if the Windows Movie Maker photo has the same file name as an existing photo, the original file is overwritten. However, the clip with the thumbnail image of the original photo remains in the collections area.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, delete the clip that you do not want. To do this, follow these steps:
- In the right pane of the Windows Movie Maker collections area, click the clip that you do not want.
- On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click Yes.
