FP2000: Cannot Restrict Access by IP Address for a Single Folder or File (265349)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q265349 SYMPTOMS
On a Microsoft Windows NT-based computer, using Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 3.0, you are unable to restrict access by Internet Protocol (IP) address for just one folder or file.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Microsoft FrontPage cannot set IP restrictions for Windows NT-based webs (only for UNIX).
IIS 3.0 supports IP restrictions only for the entire web, not for one folder or file.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, upgrade to IIS 4.0, which supports IP restrictions for one folder or file.
IIS 4.0 is available as part of the Windows NT 4 Option Pack.
