XADM: Default Display for the HTTP Virtual Server/Web Site Displays Unknown (265147)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q265147 SYMPTOMS
In Exchange System Manager, when you try to check the status of your default virtual server under Protocols/HTTP, the virtual server is displayed as "unknown." The icon for the server is a question mark (?).
CAUSE
This may be because you do not have sufficient permissions to view the status of the default virtual server.
RESOLUTION
You must be listed as an operator of the default Web site. An administrator with proper permissions can edit the list of operators in Internet Services Manager:
- On the Start menu, point to Programs, and then click Internet Services Manager.
- Right-click the default Web site, and then click Properties.
- On the Operators tab, click Add.
- Click to select the user you would like to grant permissions to, and then click Add.
- Click OK.
