Remove Server Extensions To remove the FrontPage Server Extensions and FrontPage 98 stub
files, follow these steps: Note Some non-essential files and entries in the registry may remain,
but they will have no effect on the normal operation of the computer or other
programs. - Start the Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
- Right-click a virtual server.
- Point to Task, and then click Remove Server Extensions.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each virtual server.
- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Remove the FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions icon if it is
present.
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type command, and then click Run.
- In the MS-DOS window, type the following directory path and
click OK:
c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\web server extensions\40\bin - Type regsvr32 /u fpmmc.dll, and then
press ENTER to unregister fpmmc.dll.
- Start the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
Manager.
- Right-click the server name.
- Click Restart IIS on the shortcut menu.
- Select Stop Internet Services on
computer, and then click OK.
- Delete the following directory:
c:\program files\microsoft frontpage\version3.0
- Delete the following directory:
c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\web server
extensions
- Start the Registry Editor.WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry
Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk.
- Right-click the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions key, and then click Delete.
- Delete the following directory:
c:\winnt\profiles\all users\start menu\programs\administrative
tools\server extensions administrator
