FP2000: You Receive an Error Message When Submitting a Form (264977)

When you submit a form in Microsoft FrontPage 2000, you may receive the following error message:
FrontPage Error
User: Please report details to this site's webmaster.
Webmaster: Please see the web server's application event log for more details.
The following error message may then appear in the event log:
Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions:
http://servername - Error #20002 Message: Cannot open file "path to
content directory\_private\form_results.txt" for writing.
Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions:
(OS Error #13 Message: Permission denied)
NOTE: This error message does not appear with FrontPage 2000 on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when a form is created that submits to a particular file, and that file has been deleted, moved, or renamed.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use any of the following methods:
Method 1: Recalculate Hyperlinks- Start FrontPage 2000.
- Open the web that you want.
- On the Tools menu, click Recalculate Hyperlinks.
- In the prompt that appears, click Yes.
Method 2: Rename the Form File- Start FrontPage 2000.
- Open the web that you want.
- Right-click the form.
- On the shortcut menu, click Rename.
- Type the new name for the file.
Method 3: Remove Permissions from FrontPage 2000- Start FrontPage 2000.
- Open the web that you want.
- On the Tools menu, point to Security, and then click Permissions.
- Click the Users tab.
- Select IUSR_computername (if it is listed), and then click Remove.
- Click the Groups tab.
- Remove Interactive, Network, and Everyone (if they are listed).
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
