FP2000: Users Cannot Publish Changes After Installing FrontPage (264932)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000

This article was previously published under Q264932

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade to Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions, users may be unable to publish changes to their documents, even though they were able to publish changes before the upgrade.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because, by default, FrontPage 2000 disables the permission to allow authors to upload executables.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Start the Internet Services Manager.
  2. In the left pane, right-click the virtual server name.
  3. Click Properties on the shortcut menu.
  4. Click the Server Extensions tab.
  5. Click to select the Don't inherit security settings check box (applies only to Microsoft Windows NT 4.0-based computers).
  6. Click to select the Allow authors to upload executables check box, and then click OK.
