Hit Counter Shows Red X on All Virtual Servers on UNIX (264885)

SYMPTOMS

When you browse to a page with a FrontPage hit counter, a red x is displayed instead of the hit counter. The problem occurs on all virtual servers on a UNIX host.

CAUSE

Permissions are incorrect on /usr/local/frontpage/version4.0/exes/_vti_bin.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Change the directory to /usr/local/frontpage/version4.0.
  2. Type ./set_default_perms.sh
This resets the permissions on /usr/local/frontpage and below to the correct default settings.
