XL2000: INDIRECT Function Using R1C1 Calculates Incorrectly If Chart Is Selected (264850)

In Microsoft Excel 2000, the INDIRECT worksheet function may return incorrect results when the workbook in which it is used is recalculated.
CAUSE
The problem occurs when all of the following conditions are true:
- The INDIRECT function uses an R1C1 reference.
-and-
- The R1C1 reference is relative (for example, R[1]C[0]).
-and-
- An embedded chart or chart sheet was selected when the workbook was recalculated.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, make sure the embedded chart or chart sheet is not selected by selecting a worksheet cell before you recalculate the workbook.
