SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to preview an opened project, sounds in the project may not be played, and you may receive the following error message:
There has been an unidentified error in this file's script. You may be able to fix this problem by refreshing your browser.
Refreshing your browser does not resolve this problem.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the decimal symbol is set to a comma in the Regional Settings or regional Options tool in Control Panel.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, set the decimal symbol to a period:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Regional Settings or Regional Options.
  3. Click the Number or Numbers tab.
  4. In the Decimal symbol box, click the period.
  5. Click OK, and then close Control Panel.

MORE INFORMATION

If you preview the project from the Home Publishing startup screen, from which you can browse through all available projects, sounds are played as expected, and you do not receive any error messages.
