OL2000: Outlook Does Not Initialize the Memory for User-Defined Fields When the Field Is Not Displayed in the Current View (264696)

SYMPTOMS

When you create your current view setting with a condition that uses a user-defined field that is not displayed, the condition may not work or the items are not displayed in your current view.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because Outlook 2000 does not initialize the memory for user-defined fields when the field is not displayed in the current view.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next service release that contains this fix.

To work around this problem, add all user-defined fields to your current view.
