PCI Adapter Replaces AGP Adapter as the Primary Display After You Upgrade to or Install Windows 2000 (264686)

SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade to or install Windows 2000 and you have both an AGP video adapter and a PCI video adapter, the PCI video adapter is configured to be the primary video adapter. This symptom occur although you expect that the AGP video adapter would be configured as the primary video adapter.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, configure the AGP video adapter to be the primary video adapter:
  1. Right-click the desktop, and then click Properties.
  2. On the Settings tab, click the display adapter that you want to be the primary display.
  3. Click to select the Use this device as the primary monitor check box, and then click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
