The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition

This article was previously published under Q264668

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), when you view the Help topic for Internet Migration in Help and Support, the Help topic displays the following information:

Internet migration

If you have more than one computer in your home, Windows makes it easy for you to give each one the same Internet Explorer and Outlook Express account settings. This way, you don't have to go through the trouble of setting up different accounts on each computer, or trying to figure out how to tie the computers into the same account.

Just run the Internet Connection wizard on the computer whose settings you want to duplicate, and then follow the instructions. Windows will copy the settings to a floppy disk, which you then insert into the computers you want to add the settings to.

CAUSE

The Help topic information is incorrect because the feature does not exist in the Internet Connection Wizard in Windows Me.

RESOLUTION

Internet Connection Sharing is actually configured in the Home Networking Wizard.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition.
