The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Publisher 2000

This article was previously published under Q264602

SYMPTOMS

When you copy graphic elements from one Microsoft Publisher 2000 publication and paste them into a new Publisher 2000 publication, some of the colors may change.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the color scheme for the two publications is different. This typically occurs when you use a wizard that applies a specific color scheme to a publication.

The default color scheme for all new publications in Publisher 2000 is Bluebird.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, change the color scheme of the new publication to match the color scheme of the original publication.

NOTE: Colors that you set manually are not affected if you change a color scheme.

In the original publication:
  1. On the Format menu, click Color Scheme.
  2. Identify the color scheme that is used in the original publication.
In the new publication:
  1. On the Format menu, click Color Scheme.
  2. Select the color scheme that is used in the original publication.
If you use a custom color scheme that has not been saved, you must save the scheme before you can apply it to the new publication.

To save a custom color scheme:
  1. On the Format menu, click Color Scheme.
  2. On the Custom tab, click Save Scheme.
  3. Type a name for the new color scheme, and then click OK.
  4. Click OK.
