SUMMARY

The Focus feature is an incorporated feature in Windows 2000 Multiple Monitor Support. Although this feature is normally unseen, it becomes visible when the primary monitor and secondary monitor have different resolutions and must be distinguished from one another.

MORE INFORMATION

You can use the Focus feature to observe where the secondary monitor is positioned in relation to the primary monitor.

For example:
  • You use two monitors.
  • The screen resolution for the primary monitor is 1600x1200.
  • The screen resolution for the secondary monitor is 1024x768.
  • The secondary monitor is positioned on the lower-left side of the primary monitor.
In this example, the taskbar is only displayed on one monitor by default (usually the primary monitor unless otherwise configured). When you resize the taskbar, a very small portion of the taskbar is displayed on the lower-right corner of the secondary monitor. This small portion of the taskbar on the secondary monitor is known as the Focus feature.
