SYMPTOMS

In Visio 2000 Technical Edition, the paper size is reset to Letter when you open any of the following templates:
  • Home Plans
  • Floor Plans
  • Plant Layout
  • Reflected Ceiling Plans
  • Site Plans

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Visio 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.  This problem was corrected in Microsoft Visio 2000 SR-1.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Install a printer.
  2. Set the printer default paper size to Executive.
  3. Start Visio.
  4. Open any one of the following templates:
    • Home Plans
    • Floor Plans
    • Plant Layout
    • Reflected Ceiling Plans
    • Site Plans
  5. On the File menu, click Page Setup, and then click the Print Setup tab in the Page Setup dialog box.

    Note that the paper size is Letter.
