SYMPTOMS

When you use a Fujitsu FM50SM1MA1 Static RAM (SRAM) card that uses a TrueFFS driver with Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), if you clear the memory of the SRAM by removing the battery, the card cannot be formatted.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, you must format the SRAM card by using a system running Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition (SE) with the appropriate drivers for the SRAM card. You must include the following command lines in the Config.sys file:

device=c:\windows\system\csmapper.sys
device=c:\windows\system\carddrv.exe /slot=2
