Money 2001: Money Attempts to Download Online Statements for Closed Accounts (264354)

SYMPTOMS

When you connect to Online Services to download account statements, Microsoft Money requests the statements for each online-enabled account, even if the account is closed.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, use one of the following methods.

Disable Statement Requests for the Next Call

To disable statement requests for the next call, use the appropriate steps for your version of Money.

Microsoft Money 2000

  1. On the Money Home page, click Get online statements under Tasks you do most often.
  2. Click Connect to all.
  3. Click the account for which you do not want to download online statements.
  4. In the Send Transaction dialog box, click Don't send on next call, and then click OK.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each account for which you do not want to download online statements.
  6. Click Connect.

Microsoft Money 2001

  1. On the Money navigation bar, click Accounts & Bills.
  2. Click Accounts & Bills Center.
  3. In the left pane, click Get online statements under Common Tasks.
  4. Click Connect to all.
  5. Click the account for which you do not want to download online statements.
  6. In the Send Transaction dialog box, click Don't send on next call, and then click OK.
  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each account for which you do not want to download online statements.
  8. Click Connect.

Disable Statement Requests for Your Financial Institution

To disable statement requests for a financial institution, use the appropriate steps for your version of Money.

NOTE: When you follow these steps you disable statement requests for all of the accounts that are held at the financial institution that you disable.

Money 2000

  1. On the Money Home page, click Get online statements under Tasks you do most often.
  2. Click Connect to all.
  3. In the Connect dialog box, click Call Options.
  4. On the Financial Institutions tab, click to clear the check box for each financial institution that you do not want Money to call.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Connect.

Money 2001

  1. On the Money navigation bar, click Accounts & Bills.
  2. Click Accounts & Bills Center.
  3. In the left pane, click Get online statements under Common Tasks.
  4. Click Connect to all.
  5. In the Connect dialog box, click Call Options.
  6. On the Financial Institutions tab, click to clear the check box for each financial institution that you do not want Money to call.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Connect.

MORE INFORMATION

If you configure Money to remember passwords for your financial institutions, you must to change the Call Options so that Money does not attempt to call those financial institutions each time you connect.

If you want to download specific online statements when you connect, do not configure Money to remember passwords.
